Jeong-ah Woo’s Portfolio

See beyond the obvious.

I believe good design starts with observation and empathy. I look for the difficulties that show up in what people do, not just in what they say, and try to understand a problem from different perspectives.

I started as a book designer and went on to design UI that runs on hardware, like kiosks and Astell&Kern's audio players. Lately, I've focused on complex software like ProtoPie Studio and Lottie Creator. The typography I learned making books is still what I'm most confident in.

I enjoy designing within constraints. To create experiences that are intuitive for first-time users and efficient for experienced ones, I prototype even small interactions myself and find the answer by testing with users.

Lately, I've been building prototypes with AI tools and editing the product code myself, closing the gap between design and implementation.

I also enjoy solving hard problems with others. At SK, I led design thinking workshops for cross-functional stakeholders, helping teams approach problems from a design perspective. Today, I work with a remote team across time zones.

I'm based in South Korea and work in both Korean and English.
